The Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce has introduced the New to Canada program, designed to support immigrant and refugee entrepreneurs. This initiative offers a complimentary two-year membership to those who have recently established themselves in Canada, aiming to foster business connections, mentorship, and client networking opportunities.
Funded by Air Canada, Victoria Airport Authority, Victoria Foundation, and Western Design + Build, the program seeks to integrate fresh talent into the local business landscape.
Empowering Newcomers in Greater Victoria
The New to Canada program is crafted to assist newcomers in growing their businesses within the Greater Victoria region. To qualify, applicants must have been in Canada for three years or less, hold a valid business license, and operate in the Greater Victoria area.
Participants will benefit from two years of Chamber membership, which includes various community engagement opportunities. While membership is not guaranteed and depends on available funding and eligibility review, the program aims to help newcomers successfully blend into the local business community.

Hold a valid business license in the Greater Victoria region.
Have been in Canada for three years or less.
Understand that only one business per individual is eligible for the program.
Eligibility will be reviewed within fifteen business days from the expression of interest application, subject to available funding.
