Express Entry Invitation to Apply Explained
Canadian federal immigration authority, IRCC runs and manages the immigration process to invite skilled workers and professionals engaged in skilled trade occupations to permanently settle in the country. One of the fastest ways to immigrate to Canada as a skilled worker is through the Express Entry system, under which IRCC issues eligible candidates an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence.
This extensive process requires careful review of rules and regulations of immigration paperwork. Thus, it is important to connect with our experienced and licensed RCICs to sail through the immigration process smoothly!
With an approved ITA and a complete permanent residence application, IRCC aims to process most Express Entry applications within six months or less from the date it receives the complete application, although processing times can vary. Successful applicants can move to Canada with their spouse or common-law partner and dependent children, if applicable, provided they were included in the Express Entry profile and permanent residence application.
However, to receive an Invitation to Apply, a candidate is required to follow and complete the preliminary extensive steps.
Our licensed RCIC (Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant) can help you complete the steps and help you prepare your profile for successful submission.
The steps involved in receiving the ITA include:
Eligibility Check:
An applicant must check their eligibility to match the requirements of one of these Express Entry programs:
- Federal Skilled Worker Program
- Federal Skilled Trades Program
- Canadian Experience Class
Express Entry:
The next step is the creation of a profile and entry into the Express Entry pool. Based on the submitted profile and eligibility, the profile is given a score under the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). IRCC can issue invitations through general rounds, program-specific rounds, or category-based rounds for candidates who meet a category established by the Minister, such as French-language proficiency, certain work experience or education-related priorities.
ITA:
Based on the CRS score and the type of invitation round, top-ranking eligible candidates may receive an ITA. This invitation is valid for 60 days. The complete permanent residence application, along with the required documents and fees, must be submitted within the defined period.
Application Assessment:
Further, IRCC evaluates the application and processes most complete Express Entry permanent residence applications within six months or less. With approval from the federal authorities, the candidate can receive permanent residence in Canada.
