On April 20, the Minister of Immigration, Francization, and Integration (MIFI) held its first Quebec Regular Skilled Worker Program (RSWP). The latest Quebec RSWP draw invited 1020 candidates with educational and work experience in an in-demand occupation in Quebec (with a valid job offer outside the territory of the Montreal Metropolitan Community).
Who Was Invited in the Latest RSWP Draw?
Quebec invited 1020 candidates in the latest RSWP draw that met the following eligibility criteria:
- Score equal to or more than 598 points; or
- A valid job offer outside the territory of the Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal.
- Date and time of extraction from the Arrima bank: April 17, 2023, at 6:30 a.m.
Quebec evaluates the candidate’s profile based on the selection criteria also known as the Quebec points calculator used by the province to assess the eligibility for the RSWP. This criterion includes factors such as work experience, education, age, and language proficiency in French and/or English.
The highest-ranking applicants are invited to apply for a Certificat de Selection du Quebec (CSQ).
Eligibility Criteria of Quebec RSWP Draw
To be invited to a Quebec Regular Skilled Worker Program (RSWP), one is required to create an account online on Quebec’s immigration portal, Mon projet Québec. Once the account is created, enter your personal and professional details such as age, education, language proficiency, work experience, and other relevant information.
The profile will be assessed based on the selection grid criteria utilized by the government to evaluate the applicant’s eligibility for the RSWP. If the candidate meets the minimum requirements and the profile is deemed competitive, one may be invited to apply for a Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ). The provincial government organizes regular draws from the pool of applicants who have made their profiles on Mon projet Québec and have mentioned that they are interested in immigrating to Quebec through the RSWP.
The candidates are selected according to the point-based system and the highest-ranking candidates are invited to apply for a CSQ. Quebec decides a minimum score threshold for each draw and applicants who meet the threshold are shortlisted for an invitation to apply for a CSQ.
It is extremely essential to keep your profile updated with your personal and professional information as it may affect your eligibility for the RSWP. Also, always make sure to hire a professional RCIC to help you navigate through the complex application process. An RCIC can guide you professionally through the intricacies of the process and the successful submission of your application.
