The Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador is actively taking the initiative to support and integrate newcomers by inviting organizations to collaborate on immigration settlement projects. The province has decided to offer up to $300,000 per project through the settlement and integration grants program in order to enhance economic integration, ensuring that immigrants can fully participate in the workforce and feel welcomed in their communities.
Increasing Requirement for Settlement Services
Newfoundland and Labrador have been witnessing the increase in immigration which further arise the need of these services. In 2023, there was a spike of 56.9% in permanent residents. The Settlement and Integration Grants program focuses on two main areas:

Eligibility Criteria
Newfoundland and Labrador is looking to partner with organizations such as non-profits, educational institutions, ethnocultural and multicultural groups, and local governments. The qualifying organizations can submit proposals for projects that will make a significant impact on the integration and retention of newcomers.
