Canada’s New 2024 IEC Draw Invites Around 1961 Open Work Permit Candidates

Exciting news for aspiring IEC participants! In the first week of September 2024, a total of 1961 invitations to apply (ITAs) were issued under the International Experience Canada (IEC) program. This surge in invitations is a positive sign for those hoping to work and travel in Canada.

Important Updates for IEC Participants

IEC Fees

  • Amount: The IEC fees for 2024 have been announced and vary depending on the program you’re participating in.
  • Working Holiday: Candidates in the Working Holiday program pay a fee of CAD $100.  
  • Young Professionals and International Co-op: Participants in these programs do not pay additional fees, but their employers must pay a CAD $230 employer compliance fee.
  • Biometrics: If you need to give biometrics, you’ll also need to pay the CAD $85 biometric fee.
  • Refunds: Fees may be refundable in certain circumstances, such as if you withdraw your application or if your employer withdraws your offer of employment.

Insurance

  • Mandatory: Having adequate health insurance is mandatory for your stay in Canada under the IEC program.
